On Carbon Burning in Super Asymptotic Giant Branch Stars

We model carbon flames in 2755 SAGB MESA models. We derive an analytic expression for the location of the flame's ignition. We also show that rotation has little impact on the flame, while overshoot has a large impact due to its effect on the size of the CO core formed. Farmer, Fields & Timmes, ApJ, 2015.
